Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962), humanitarian and wife of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, was chairman of the UN Commission on Human Rights from the age of sixty-two to sixty-seven. She wrote the book On My Own at the age of seventy-four and her autobiography at the age of seventy-eight, the year she died.
