Currently George is Chair of the Puyallup Activity Center Senior Advisory Board. He has served several terms on the Board.
George was an original member of the AdvantAge Task Force. He helped create Aging in Place and assisted in getting AIP accepted as a committee of the Senior Advisory Board.
George is also a member of the Celebrate Seniority Advisory Council. He helped organize the Council and has served as it Chair.
George is involved in many Community activities. These include being a Celebrate Seniority and RSVP tutor at the Thompson Elementary School in the Bethel School District. He tutors mathematics and teaches 5th and 6th grade students algebra. He serves on the Puyallup School District Career and Technical Advisory Committee. He has been a judge for many years for the Rogers High School Senior Board presentations. He is a referee/starter for swimming at Rogers and Curtis High Schools.
George served with the 142nd Combat Engineers in the 42nd Infantry Division in the European Theater during World War II.
He is a graduate of Montana State College with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer. After over 40 year working for General Electric and Phillips, he and his wife Marian moved to Puyallup to be closer to family.
